Blog Giveaway!

It has been a great achievement for the crafts directory this week, having had it's 100th craft listing and we have also now raised over £400 for charity!

So to celebrate I am going to do a blog giveaway. I am always looking for new ways to expand the crafts directory to make it an even more useful resource for crafters and visitors. I am asking for comments and suggestions on what additions you would like made to the website to make it an even more useful resource for both crafts and charities.

The winner will get this Cake Sprinkle pendant, handmade by me at Shpangle Jewellery. You can either keep it for yourself or it would make a lovely Christmas present.

Cake Sprinkle Pendant
The rules of the giveaway are as follows:

1) You must be following this blog and registered with the crafts directory.

2) You need to comment on this blog post with your suggested addition or idea that you would like to see made to Crafts4Charity.

3) Only one comment per person and each suggested idea should be unique, and not repeated by another comment.

For each unique and achievable comment (decided by me), I will donate 50p to a charity listed in the crafts directory.

The giveaway will close at Midnight on 4th October. I will then announce the winner some time during Tuesday 5th October, when I will also announce the total money raised, and the charity it will be going to, all randomly decided.

Good Luck and I look forward to your comments!

Mick

  1. Well, here goes - I just spent the last hour racking my brains and looking at the site trying to come up with a suggestion for improvement. Sorry, but I cant - so the best I can do is to say, its just perfect as it is:)

Not sure if this will count.

  2. lol Lynda, well the pendant is yours if I don't get any more comments! OK, here is my suggestion.

To expand the website into promoting crafters who already make for charity. For example people who already give a percentage of their sales to their chosen charity. Maybe have website pages giving their stories, and links through to their websites where people can buy.

  3. Enter meeeee :D

Hmm...this is a toughie...perhaps you could have clickable adds that people could donate £4+ plus for? Like a sponsored link on Google hehe. So it's £2+ for a link and £4+ for an add :)

Not sure if that is something that you would want to do but it's all I can think of because it's so great anyway!

  4. Thats a good idea Mick, but you cant win your own pendant!
So, its me and Monkeyloulou to fight so far:)

You see, not much room for improvement, hence lack of entries.

  5. I think a facebook page would be useful to spread the word to another audience. You have twitter and this blog so you should be on facebook too :)

Love the Cake Sprinkle Pendant - very appropriate for me seeing as my shop is called Sprinkles ;)

  6. Many thanks for your comment Grannysmither. I try to spread the word about it on facebook by my facebook account http://www.facebook.com/shpangle.jewellery however maybe it is time to have a dedicated page.

  7. Hi Mick,
I think a nice addition would be to see some news from the charities that Crafts 4 Charity supports - what they think of the site, fundraising events they're planning, etc. Perhaps this could be on the 'Our Charities' page, added to what is already there.

I'd love to win that pendant for my daughter's birthday which is coming up fast.

I also second Grannysmithers suggestion of a dedicated Facebook page :)
